Just a note to confirm that the re-revised light throttle / trailing throttle road tune on the old RS is, to coin a phrase, ‘Pretty Nice’ & fuel consumption appears to be back to normal. Many thanks for your expertise & touring over the festive season will now be that much more enjoyable!
Can’t say enough good things about the work done by Jim and the boys at Tunehouse! Their thoroughness and attention to detail are evident in the spotless and professional presentation of the workshop (you literally could eat off the floor, but I wouldn’t try it with Jim watching!). Jim has fixed problems caused or unresolved by other mechanics in cars I’ve brought to him, especially in the tuning department.
I took my Ver 5 STi to him when I bought it, already modified. It was making 188kW ATW on 17psi, and when he had finished, it made 215kW WITH 2psi LESS BOOST (more power with less boost is a sound philosophy of his). I then asked him to lean on it harder, and he came back with 251kW at 20psi. Needless to say I was extremely happy with this result, and haven’t bothered using the low boost setting since! And this is no “razor edge” tune, on the brink of destruction. The car has been driven (hard) every day, and has done two track days since.
Thanks Jim, keep up the good work!

David after World Time Attack 2011…
We thought it best if I drove since I have a few more laps at EC under my belt. Overall I’m pretty happy with the result. I had no idea what the car would do going into the event, 1:45′s are definately nothing to sneeze at on 225 street tyres, and tein superstreets. So plenty more left in it with a few little upgrades to rubber and shock/spring rates.
…
Also a big thanks to the tunehouse guys (Chris and Tony especially) for coming out to support us and make sure there were no problems with the car. Always good to drive home in the same car after 3 hard days of racing!
Dave from Rexnet after a visit to Tunehouse:
…I got a few months back at Tunehouse – The boys did a great job, especially Jim who pushed the car to its safest possible limit and I couldn’t be happier with the result.
The car used to hammer pre-tune but now it’s on another level. Peak boost downat 2700 RPM and look at the curve, so flat the power just keeps coming, plus really quick shifts when in manual mode.
I was concerned about the auto box but Jim knows what he’s doing, especiallywith the auto box… good luck keeping up 0-100 all those clutch & gear sticks out there
There’s a lot of talk about numbers on here but ultimately you want good gainsand as you can imagine I’m thrilled with my gains.
This is what I did:
- Turbo back exhaust; dump pipe from Tunehouse and cat back is an Invidiatitanium tip system (looks and sounds great).
- Cold air intake from Tunehouse.
- Custom tune.
It’s a sympony in the car that’s for sure … coming soon … suspensionupgrades.
Alex on Rexnet ater a visit to Tunehouse…
I have just had custom tune done by Jim at Tunehouse, torque went from 369Nm to 500Nm and power from 218kW to 239kW. The car is simply amazing now!
Big thanks to Jim and his team! I cannot tell you how much better and smoother the car drives and not to mention the extra power and torque.
If anyone wants the BEST advice and tune I highly recommend Tunehouse!!
Current Modifications:

Brian after World Time Attack…
Thanks to the support of Tunehouse last weekend at WTA.
The STi did an excellent 1:45secs on soft springs and narrow tyres, in our first outing at EC. Driven by my son David, one of the top Evo clubsprint drivers last year, he did the same time as he did in his well preprared Evo MR8 last year at WTA. The STi can only get better with further setup.
Brian
I’d like to take this oppurtunity to thank Tunehouse Sydney for preparing and supporting my Subaru for the Time attack race which was held on the weekend. Also Id like to thank Tony and Chris from Tune house that where at the track preparing the car and making sure that everything was in perfect condition.
I would also like to thank Jim the owner of Tunehouse for the perfect tuning and preperation of my racing car that ran on the weekend with no problems and i will hope that he will keep on supporting my car for future races.
