That is it absorbs water. The more water is absorbs the less efficient at pulling you up it is when you need it to! It can also cause damage to parts of the system that are designed with brake fluid in mind opposed to water, so definitely get this checked before it costs you money as well as impact your safety. Shocks Wear out
They can even fail. What happens when this happens? Well you might say they get noisy which is half right.
